Ryan is a fourth-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). Originally from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, he moved to Prince Edward Island in 2017 with his sights set on veterinary school, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UPEI in 2021.
His hands-on career began that same year as a Kennel Attendant at the AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and his passion for the field has only grown since. He was accepted into the DVM program in 2023 and is set to graduate in spring 2027. Along the way, he has worked in clinics across the Island and stays actively involved in community volunteer work.
Ryan is passionate about small animal medicine, with particular interests in surgical oncology and orthopedics. Outside the clinic, you’ll find him on the golf course in summer or snowboarding in winter. At home, he’s kept busy by three beloved pets: Roxy, a pit bull mix; Sydney, a ragdoll cat; and Pepper, a rabbit.
