Your Day-to-Day

🩺 Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to every patient and client who walks through our doors	👨‍⚕️ Support the veterinarian through appointments, surgeries, and client education — freeing them to focus on diagnosis and decision-making
📋 Complete thorough patient intake assessments and communicate your findings clearly to the attending doctor	🔬 Collect and process diagnostic samples — blood, urine, fecal, cytology — for both in-house and reference lab analysis
🐾 Handle and restrain animals calmly and safely, even in high-stress or emergency situations	💉 Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, calculate and initiate fluid drip rates, and administer IV medications
💊 Prepare and dispense medications accurately, ensuring complete medical records and appropriate client billing	😴 Monitor patients under anesthesia, oversee post-operative recovery, and keep owners informed every step of the way
🔧 Set up and assist with medical procedures, surgeries, and imaging — with proper sterile technique throughout	🧹 Keep the clinic safe, clean, and compliant — from sterilizing instruments to maintaining a sanitary treatment environment
🐕 Monitor hospitalized patients, administer scheduled treatments, and advocate for their welfare throughout their stay	💻 Maintain accurate, detailed records in our hospital management system and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues

Is This You?

Requirement	Details
🎓 Certification	Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
🧠 Experience	2+ years of hands-on patient care
📚 Exams	Passed the VTNE, or will be passing it soon
💬 Communication	Able to communicate clearly and calmly with clients in stressful situations
⚡ Mindset	Composed, detail-oriented, and reliable when it matters most
🕒 Schedule	Comfortable with a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical & Safety Requirements

This role is active, hands-on, and fast-paced.

You should be comfortable with:

Standing and walking for extended periods
Working at a keyboard or workstation for portions of the day
Kneeling, bending, crouching, balancing, or crawling when needed
Lifting up to 50 lbs
Working around sick, injured, or fractious animals
Exposure to zoonotic diseases, hazardous materials, cleaning agents, anesthetic gases, and radiation
Following all hospital safety protocols and WorkSafeNB standards

Compensation & Perks

$26–$32/hr
plus dividend potential

36–44 hrs/week expected
